Treatment for Obstructive Sleep Apnea Silver Spring, MD
Our goal is to serve our community by making treatment for obstructive sleep apnea possible for everyone. We help patients choose the best treatment option for THEM and provide the highest quality oral appliances, while making sure to educate on best practices in sleep hygiene.
We educate our patients on sleep health so they have the proper tools and knowledge to make the best decisions for an overall healthier lifestyle. We are committed to continuing education for Sleep Apnea and Oral Appliance Therapy, and are constantly challenging ourselves to be current with the latest studies and attending sleep CE courses. We follow AADSM and Medical Board protocols for treating Sleep Apnea.
Dr. Ekaterina Tomenko, DDS
A native of Russia, Dr. Tomenko came to the U.S. under a music scholarship to attend Columbia Union College, where she travelled and performed extensively with the New England Youth Ensemble and Columbia Collegiate Chorale. Ultimately she graduated with a degree in cello and voice and was accepted to study dentistry at Loma Linda University.
The mission of Dr. Tomenko’s office is to provide comprehensive dental care in a patient-friendly atmosphere for the entire family. Her focus on preventative care and treating the whole patient led to her interest in the field of sleep medicine.
Treating obstructive sleep apnea and preventing a host of potentially life threatening conditions provides tremendous satisfaction, knowing that the services provided are contributing to a happier, healthier world.
Dr. Tomenko finds it particularly rewarding to see how life changing the treatment of sleep apnea can be for patients. In fact, she had received hugs from dental procedures, but not as many as from those who that finally feel rested again and can return to a more active lifestyle.
Much of her continuing education has been dedicated to this field. She is a member of the American Sleep and Breathing Academy (ASBA), the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM), and a diplomat of the International Academy of Sleep.
